Welcome to my Spiritual and Wellbeing Blog posts

Imbolc, is also known as St Brigid’s Day, andis the great festival where Brigid the pagan Goddess is honoured. Brigid is the Goddess of healing, smithcraft and poetry as well as the Goddess of the Sun, of the Hearth and of Fire.

St Brigid is believed to bring fertility to the land and the people.

In the Celtic calendar, Imbolc marks the beginning of the lambing season and the start of Spring. The original word, Imbolg, means in the belly. An indication of expectation, the promise of renewal, hidden potential, the earth reawakening and the life force working.

Imbolc is great time to let go of the past and begin looking to the future. Clear out the old and look to the future allowing for new beginnings. Hence the term spring clean! Declutter if you feel the need!

Use the time to make wishes or affirmations on this cross quarter day which is midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox.

If you have an altar place some snowdrops on it to honour At Brigid.

Feel free to share pictures you have of your altars or what you are doing to celebrate this special time.
